AS I TRAVEL

As I travel and try to live my life fit to be like You
Trying to damper all I say and do
Not being perfect in any way
Not in the movies, nor a screen play
With a real heart and soul, and a broken heart
That have been shattered and torn apart
Thank You Lord, for a new live and a chance
To keep looking upward, going forward and no backward glance

Moving along like in a convoy
With very few leaders to hire and employ
Trying to not miss the midnight train
And wash all my good deeds down the drain
Whether I be sailing the waters, or flying in the sky
There is a message and a reason why
I travel with a heartfelt need
Hear my cry and  listen to my plea
And as prayers I send up to Thee

Giving all the glory, thanks and praise
And enough love to last the remainder of my days
Having a gentle heart and a caring way
Going on further towards the day
When all heaven breaks loose
And the last choice is for You to choose
Whether I win or by chance loose

Fears and dreads are left behind as I go
Will Him....Right together as I live and grow
The hills will part and mountains made wider and taller
In all weather, summer, spring, winter and fall
There's a  beckoning call I can already hear
Saying "closer Lord, I see all clearer"
 Please hold me near
I can sense it all just as I should
But keep reminding me if You would

That a story is not over til the last it's told
And I find at the rainbow's end with a pot of gold
Eternal life and with everlasting ease up to the gate
Don't let me falter and wait too late
Winds will blow and deep waters flow
People will carry a heavy load
They also may display a weary frown on their face
And be out of place...in this confused and angry  rat race

The stars may lose their sparkle and shine
Some may bicker and sadly whine
The nations may part
There is a new day ahead...get ready now
You're off to a new start
If I can crawl on my arms and hands
You'll know I am taking my rightful stand
Cause my Father knows if I need His help
He knows I can't always pace my step
